International Carbon Management Partnerships: Next Steps for Cross-Border CO₂ Solutions

With the adoption of the new Carbon Dioxide Storage and Transport Act (KSpTG), Germany has taken a decisive step toward establishing itself as a key player in European carbon management. The legislation creates new opportunities for cross-border cooperation and positions Germany to work closely with neighbouring countries that already offer advanced CO₂ transport infrastructure and storage capacities.

The Netherlands, Denmark, and Belgium are emerging as particularly strong and well-prepared partners. Together, they offer critical assets for developing an integrated European carbon management ecosystem—one that supports climate targets, security of supply, and long-term industrial competitiveness.

Against this backdrop, the German Carbon Management Alliance (CMA), in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, cordially invites you to an in-person event focused on the next steps for international cooperation in CO₂ transport and storage.
